This is a case study and great insight on how a Brand is envisioned and the thought process that goes into designing a beautiful and practical Brand identity for a Business.
I will be using the brand identity designed by Ninety Three© for an Interior design Brand EWAN.
This is a great design project that struck me and inspired me to share my take on the design and the process behind the development and decision-making that went into it by the designers.
Client Brief: A Starting Point
Every Brand starts with the client brief that entails what is the business, What is the client’s Vision, and their Goals.
For Evan the client asked to design a brand that is modern and offers a clean experience to the clients.
The Design Brief from the Client has a couple of key pieces of information that are essential for the design process, A Good Design Brief sets the Base for a great design, A design that connects the Brand and Business to the target audience.
Following are the components of the design brief that are essential.
Target Market
The Design Brief explains to the designers what the Business has to offer and to whom. Who are the people the business will target or benefit?
By determining a clear target audience / Target Market the business can determine the scope and set the tone of its design language.
for this Brand, they are targeting Arabic/ Turkish People who are looking to have their furniture and interior design upgraded.
Products/ Services
The design brief has clear information about the products and services the business provides. Evan offers furniture products as chairs, tables, sofas, cabinets, and all kinds of furniture.
The client should provide this information to the designers so they know exactly what they are designed for.
Brand Values
Brand Value determines the real feel of the design and Direction. How a business wants to be perceived by the target audience, what message the client should get when they see the Brand Identity or any element of it.
The brand Value of a Business is a very powerful thing, it can set the mood of the user and help create an image of the Product of Service experience, so A great amount of effort is put into this but the Designers and the Client.
For Evan, The Brand Value of being an interior design company is that it is practical, easy, and offers great value by providing beautiful products that add value to the client’s home ad businesses.
Brand Identity Design Process
The design process for the Brand is determined by the design brief, When the Designer has a clear shot at what they are doing and why they are designing only then a great design is achieved.
Branding design for Arabic Brand is quite a complex thing to do as it has a certain design language and feel to it.
Arabic logo design has to follow a specific design language and what makes it different and unique is the Rich history and traditional value to the Arabic designs.
Design Inspiration for Brand Identity Design
Inspiration plays a huge role in designing the correct thing for a brand, For a Business, its inspiration determines its course and the Brand Value it’s going to carry.
Color Pallets sets the Mood and Feel of the Brand, A Good color Pallet appeals the emotions and sentiments of the clients.
When there are clear parameters set for the designers by the Businesses and All the necessary information is given to the Designers the end results can be pretty Amazing, As this interior design Brand has a clear message, feel, and Design Language.
